A cosy, colourful little restaurant & bistro tucked just off the quay on Market Street — built around fresh, seasonal West Country produce, with vegetarian & vegan options always on and blackboard specials decided each day.
Jack Sprats is a little restaurant & bistro in the fishing village of Appledore — bright coral-orange and sea-jade on the outside, warm and quirky-cosy within, with a log fire, framed fish prints and a sunny courtyard out the back.
What sets us apart is simple. We build the menu around fresh, seasonal West Country produce — seafood landed nearby, seasonal game, and plenty for vegetarians and vegans too. What's good today decides what's cooked today, so it changes constantly with the season — nothing sitting week-old in a freezer here.
Each morning, once the daily produce lands, we chalk up the specials. A short, considered list — moules, the famous fish chowder, seasonal game, whatever's freshest that day. The board changes daily, so there's always a reason to come back.
An incredible, well-earned achievement. We're proud to back the team out on the water.
