Jack Sprats is that rare kind of place that creates the perfect atmosphere, serves delicious food with friendly and attentive staff. We ordered the moules marinière which was cooked to perfection and also the best fish chowder this side of Massachusetts. This place is an absolute must visit.

Appledore's latest gem revisited. First was three days after opening and the fish chowder was outstanding. Now two months later Jack Sprats is proving itself worthy. Ham hock from the lunch menu was perfectly perfect and great value. Great relaxed atmosphere with the warming log fire. Service is always with a smile!

If you visit Appledore, you must pop into Jack Sprats. It has a fab relaxed and quirky atmosphere. The service is warm and friendly. Located just off the Quay. They do the best scrambled eggs I have ever had. There is a great choice of food and drinks available. PS It’s dog friendly.

We stumbled across this hidden gem today whilst visiting Appledore. We popped in for drinks and received a wonderfully warm welcome! Our 6 year old son loved his hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and even had the chance to toast some on the fire! Would definitely recommend and we will be back!

A very enjoyable lunch at this recently opened cafe/bistro in Appledore. The menu gave us an excellent, varied choice of appetizing dishes, with prices for all budgets. We also enjoyed the cosy, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Tucked away in sheltered Market Street — the perfect place to eat and drink with friends and family. An asset to the village.

A small group of us held our monthly breakfast club here. Really was brilliant, food top class, atmosphere very good with a roaring fire, good value for money, the coffee alone is worth the visit. Staff very attentive. Highly recommended.

Couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful, with added roaring fire (lovely on a miserable day). Nothing was too much trouble and the only difficulty was deciding what to choose from the excellent menu (and specials). There was something to suit everyone and each of us very much enjoyed our choices. Portions were generous and highlights were the mussels and soft shell crab from the specials board. The dogs were really made to feel at home and insist that we must go back.

Fantastic staff and great veggie, vegan and meaty brunches! Popped in for brunch without a booking and they made space for all 12 of us! Wonderful team made our lovely brunch even better. Would definitely recommend and will be back again soon!
